Following a detailed investigation, the NCB confirmed the accused’s role in the cross-border trafficking of ganja. A complaint was subsequently filed before the court.

On May 28, 2025, the Additional District and Sessions Court, Kamrup (Metro), convicted the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. The court sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh.

This conviction underscores the NCB’s continued efforts to fulfil its mission of a Drug-Free India.
