EGH development panel hold meet

Shillong, Feb 11: A conference was held to review government departments and developmental programmes in East Khasi Hills at the conference room of the Circuit House in Williamnagar on Monday.

Attended by the minister of PHE, Soil and Water Conservation, Housing, etc, Marquise Marak;  Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal; District Planning Officer and ADC, DA Sangma; Project Director of DRDA, BDOs and other officers of the line departments, the meeting was organised by the East Garo Hills District Planning and Development Committee (DPDC) and chaired by Rongjeng MLA, Jim M Sangma.

The minister, while speaking about the importance of the committee meeting, highlighted the vision of the chief minister and informed that the DPDC is the platform where issues relating to

development of the district can be resolved.

The deputy commissioner also spoke on the need for bringing out an action plan for the district.

Departments such as District Commerce and Industries Centre, Animal Husbandry and

Veterinary, Art and Culture, Social Welfare, Tourism, Agriculture, Sericulture and Weaving, Water Resources, PWD, PHE, Urban Affairs, Education, Soil and Water Conservation, Supply, Housing, Forest, Health, Fisheries, Cooperation, C&RD Blocks, DRDA, Banks and Skill Development were also part of the agenda for discussion.
