Event held to promote medical, sporting excellence in Meghalaya

Shillong, Sept 16: Renowned sports injury specialist from Mumbai Dr. Adit Rajesh Muniar took part in the recently concluded workshop on sports injuries held at the SSA Stadium Conference Room in Shillong.

The workshop was organised as part of a collaborative initiative between Shillong Lajong FC, CORAS Hospital and Shillong Sports Association, aimed at enhancing the medical and sporting ecosystem in Meghalaya.

Dr. Muniar, who has over 12 years of experience in treating sports injuries, has been associated with leading hospitals such as Lilavati Hospital, Breach Candy Hospital and HN Reliance Foundation Hospital.

The workshop primarily focused on educating participants about injury prevention in sports. Key discussions highlighted the importance of targeted training, proper warm-up and cool-down routines, adequate recovery, timely and appropriate treatment, as well as balanced nutrition in ensuring overall fitness and reducing the risk of injuries.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with Dr Muniar and discuss real-world challenges faced in the sporting ecosystem.

A free consultation camp was also held at Manda Clinic, Fire Brigade, Shillong, where Dr Muniar provided expert guidance to sportspersons and members of the general public suffering from sports-related injuries and ligament issues.

The initiative aimed to create awareness about proper diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation methods to ensure faster recovery and prevent long-term complications.
