Ex-Servicemen Rally organized in Tura

Tura, Dec 9: Two Day Ex-Servicemen Rally was held at SMELC Dakopgre, Tura on 9th and 10th December, 2024 which was organized by the Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, West Garo Hills, Tura. Rupert Momin, MLA, Kharkutta Constituency graced the occasion as Chief Guest in the presence of C P Marak, Executive Chairman, Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE), Tura, Col MM Singh (Retd) Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, West Garo Hills, Tura and other dignitaries.

Speaking during the rally, the Chief Guest Rupert Momin expressed his gratitude for the selfless sacrifice rendered by the Ex-Servicemen during their line of service. He also urged the Zila Sainik to take care of their welfare and extend more service to them in future. 

Col MM Singh (Retd) Zila Sainik Welfare Officer mentioned that these Ex- Servicemen Rally is being organized for ESM, Widows and Dependents of Garo Hills for their Welfare measures like CSD Canteen and Medical OPD counters was also set up at the venue by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare and HQ 101 and the rally was attended by large number of veterans, widows and their dependents.

During the rally, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries presented cash awards for Veernaris and gifts to 1971 War ESM and the widows.
