Goods seized in WGH border

Shillong, Feb 19: In a major crackdown on cross-border smuggling, alert troops of the 22nd Battalion, Border Security Force Meghalaya foiled a smuggling attempt and seized miscellaneous items worth over Rs 21 lakh near the border in the West Garo Hills district.

BSF personnel intercepted a consignment based on a tip off while it was being smuggled into Bangladesh. 

The seized items have been handed over to the concerned custom office authorities for further investigation and necessary action.
