Governor hosts MLAs from Karnataka

Shillong, May 31: Governor CH Vijayashankar on Friday hosted members of the Committee of Backward Classes and Minority at Raj Bhavan, Shillong and assured that the concerns of backward and minority communities are given due attention at all relevant forums.

The visit marked a significant gesture of engagement and recognition of the vital role played by the committee in promoting social inclusion, equity, and development among marginalized communities.

The meeting was held along with the presence of AR Krishnamurthy, G.H. Srinivasa, Shri H.V. Venkatesh, Gururaj Shetty Gantihole, Channabasappa Chenni, i Katti Nikhil Umesh members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Dr. Dhananjay Sarji S.R. member of the Karnataka Legislative council.

As a mark of respect and appreciation, the Governor felicitated all the members of the visiting Committee with traditional randia shawls, symbolizing Meghalaya’s culture of hospitality and honour. The gesture was received with heartfelt gratitude by the committee members, who expressed their deep appreciation for the Governor’s support and encouragement.

During the interaction, the delegation shared their insights and ongoing initiatives, while also highlighting key issues concerning access to education, livelihoods, and representation.

The Governor assured them of his support in ensuring that the concerns of backward and minority communities are given due attention at all relevant forums.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of ideas and mutual expressions of goodwill, reinforcing the commitment to collective progress and inclusive governance.
