Govt regularises service of 283 special educators

Shillong, Oct 29: Fulfilling a long-pending demand, the state government has approved the regularisation of services over 283 special educators, who have been engaged as contractual workers, in the state.

The signification decision was taken in the state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday.

“The cabinet has approved regularisation of special educators and similar professionals as mandated in the Supreme Court’s order,” cabinet minister Wailadmiki Shylla said after the meeting.

As of now, 283 special educators are working on contractual basis, and the cabinet’s approval paves the way for their regularisation of service.
