Guv lauds role of MHRC

Shillong, Nov 21: H. Nongpluh, IPS (Retd), Member Non-Judicial of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission, paid a courtesy call to Governor C H Vijayashankar, at Raj Bhavan today.

During the meeting, Nongpluh briefed the Governor on the initiatives and activities of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission, emphasizing its efforts in safeguarding and promoting human rights in the state.

Discussions were held on the importance of ensuring justice, equity, and protection for all citizens, with special focus on marginalized and vulnerable communities.

The Governor appreciated the significant role of the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission in addressing human rights concerns and assured his continued support in strengthening its mandate to uphold justice and fairness in the state.
