Hat-trick and six-goal wonder feats highlight TFL Day 4

Tura, June 26: A sensational hat-trick from Tangkam and a spectacular six-goal haul by Mohandas Ch. Sangma lit up Day 4 of the Second Division in the Tura Football League (TFL) 2026-27 on Friday, turning the tournament into a goal-scoring spectacle.

Chitoktak YC began the day in dominant fashion with a commanding 4-0 victory over Mrigre SWC. Tangkam opened the scoring in the 25th minute to give his side a slender lead at the break before Chitoktak stepped up the pace in the second half. Donebi doubled the advantage in the 50th minute, while Tangkam completed his superb hat-trick with goals in the 67th and 87th minutes.

If the opening fixture showcased dominance, the second was pure fireworks. Ashugre SYC demolished Dilneng Sports CC 8-2, inspired by an outstanding display from Mohandas Ch. Sangma. After scoring in the 6th and 23rd minutes, he returned after the break to add four more goals in the 51st, 53rd, 63rd and 67th minutes, taking his remarkable tally to six for the match. Cherniko M. Sangma (16th) and Jagrang R. Marak (27th) also got on the scoresheet for Ashugre, while Bentick Ch. Momin netted twice for Dilneng in the 57th and 77th minutes.

Second Division action continues on Saturday with Group E fixtures as Sampalgre YC take on Diggrangre S&SC at 11 am, followed by Ganolgre SYC against Sadolpara YCC at 1 pm at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS) playground in Chandmary, Tura.

Saturday will also witness the opening match of the TFL First Division, with Doreng Sporting locking horns with Northern United at 3 pm at the same venue.
