All accommodation providers asked to obtain NOC from admin, police

Shillong, July 1: In a bid to enhance security measures, the state government has made it mandatory for all accommodation providers to register with the online app/portal of Meghalaya Tourism.

As part of the measure, the government also asked the accommodation providers to obtain no objection certificate (NOC) from the district administration as well as the district police authorities.

The accommodation providers coming under the purview of this order include hotels, guesthouses, homestays, lodges, inns and bed-and-breakfast establishments, etc.

All these accommodation providers must now register with the Tourism department through the online platform.

The move is aimed at tightening security and streamlining visitor data, director of Tourism said in a statement.

The registration process involves daily digital reporting of guest check-ins and check-outs.

This includes critical details such as number of visitors, their gender, place of origin (state or country), and identity verification (ID proof, visa details, and C-form uploads for foreign nationals).

A detailed user manual can be accessed in the portal – app.meghalayatourism.in.

The department has urged all operators to register immediately and fully comply with the new regulations to avoid any legal or operational issues.
