Huge turnout prompts BSF to extend job rally

Shillong, Sep 13: Following a huge turnout of candidates, the BSF has extended its ongoing Constable (General Duty) Recruitment Rally in Meghalaya till September 18.

The recruitment rally was extended “in response to the overwhelming and enthusiastic participation of youth from across the state”, the BSF said.

Since the rally commenced, the BSF has witnessed an exceptional turnout, with over 10,000 candidates already registered, it said.

Appreciating the strong urge of candidates to serve the nation, the BSF said, “The enthusiasm shown by aspiring youths — many of whom have travelled long distances from remote and far-flung areas — reflects a deep sense of patriotism and a strong desire to serve the nation.”

The remarkable level of interest and commitment has prompted BSF authorities to extend the rally to ensure that every eligible and motivated candidate gets the opportunity to participate, the BSF said.

Organised under the aegis of BSF Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters, Shillong, the recruitment rally is being conducted at two primary venues – SHQ BSF Mawpat Campus, Shillong and BSF Campus, 200 Bn Dhanakgiri, Tura.

Meanwhile, the participation of candidates at the rally in both locations continues to grow every day.

So far, the rally has recorded a 70:30 male-to-female participation ratio, highlighting the rising aspiration and empowerment of young women keen to serve the uniformed service.

The BSF said with this extension, it reaffirms its commitment to empowering local youth and building a strong, inclusive, and dedicated force.

For the youth of Meghalaya, joining the BSF represents not just a career, but a chance to embrace a life of honour, courage, and national service, the BSF said.
