ICAR staff plants 100 agar tree saplings

ICAR celebrates ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam: A Special Tree Plantation Drive’

Shillong, Sep 18: Around 100 ICAR-NEH employees along with the director, Dr VK Mishra planted 100 Agar (Aquilaria malaccensis) tree saplings at the Agroforestry, Hill Top site of the institute on Monday.    

Keeping in tune with the campaign of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, Mishra reiterated the institute’s commitment to the ongoing environmental initiatives and encouraged everyone to continue their support to the green cause. 

Speaking on the occasion, the director urged the staff to recognise the role of their mothers and their contribution towards environmental protection and society as a whole.

He also acknowledged the help and support of DFO, Silviculture Division, Shillong Meghalaya for supply of the planting material.
