In constant touch with Assam border panel: Dhar

Shillong, Nov 26: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who is also the chairman of the regional committee for West Jaintia Hills district, has said that the state team is in constant touch with their Assam counterpart.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Dhar said, “We are not saying because of elections but both sides are always having dialogues. Maybe because of elections from the Assam side, they are a bit busy.”

He informed that the deputy commissioner is yet to submit the report on Block-I to the regional committee.

“When the report is in place, we will take a decision on when to hold a meeting at our level first and then we will discuss with our counterpart,” Dhar added.

The deputy chief minister said that both the state governments have agreed to maintain peace in the unresolved areas of differences.

“As of now everything is normal,” he stated.
