Shillong, May 23: The Jaintia National Council (JNC) has termed drug abuse as a major threat to the society and urged the state government to address the issue.

“We urge the government departments concerned to address this issue promptly and seriously,” said Symboh Baiar Sumer, working president of JNC Khliehriat Circle.

The JNC issued the appeal after catching two drug users, who were handed over to their guardians for better care and treatment.
