Shillong, Aug 8: Chief Secretary DP Wahlang said the review and summarization of the recommendations of the Expert Committee on the State Job Reservation are currently under way.
Wahlang told reporters on Friday that he is committed to meeting the August 31 deadline of submitting his report to the state government.
“I have to sum up the recommendations of the committee and it is a work in progress and as mandated by the cabinet to me to submit the report by August 31, the deadline will be met,” he assured.
The Justice (Retd) MC Garg-led committee, formed on September 12, 2023, includes Justice (Retd) Dr Satish Chandra, Prof DV Kumar, Prof Chander Shekhar, and Prof Subhadip Mukherjee.
The committee had submitted its report after reviewing the existing state reservation policy by gathering input from stakeholders.
