Liquor, drugs seized in Gambegre: Poll officials

Shillong, Oct 31: Liquor and drugs were seized from election-bound Gambegre constituency, election officials said on Thursday.


A total of 1179.27 litres of liquor worth approximately Rs 1 lakh and 81 grams of drug worth Rs 2 lakh were seized so far, they said adding that and there has been no seizure of cash.


According to the officials, there has been no incident of model code of conduct violation reported from the constituency. Meanwhile, 655 out of 3567 licensed arms have been deposited so far.
