Shillong, Sept 24: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) Shillong Regional Office, which has been operating for 45 years from a temporary building, will now get a permanent facility.
Foundation stone for the new MBoSE regional office was laid by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma at Education Complex in Laitumkhrah on Wednesday.
He said the new facility would strengthen the functioning of MBoSE and provide greater support to the state’s education ecosystem.
“Our focus on education goes beyond infrastructure,” the Chief Minister said, pointing to government initiatives including Mission Education, Mission School, CM IMPACT, digital learning and targeted interventions to improve examination outcomes.
He said the government was taking a step-by-step approach to strengthening learning and creating better opportunities for students.
The new MBoSE regional office is expected to improve the functioning of MBoSE in Shillong and provide a dedicated institutional space after decades of operating from a temporary facility.
Sangma said the office would further support the state’s ongoing education initiatives and strengthen the delivery of services within the school education system.
