Shillong, Nov 26: The state government has given its approval for the establishment of the Park University, a private university, in Resubelara, North Garo Hills.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced that the cabinet has approved an ordinance for the university’s establishment, following scrutiny of the proposal by various departments.
“The promoters have been working with the department, and the bill has been sent to the private university regulatory board and legal department for scrutiny,” Sangma said after chairing the cabinet meeting at Ward’s Lake on Wednesday
He said that the approval is subject to the new private university Act, which has been strengthened to ensure proper monitoring of private universities in the state.
