Meghalaya to have own incubation centre on T-Hub model

Shillong, Oct 29: Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary, IT&C Department has announced plans to sign an MoU to create Meghalaya’s own incubation centre modelled on T-Hub during an event held at the Shillong Technology Park at Umsawli on Wednesday.

Speaking at the “AI SPARK: Accelerating Meghalaya Startups” event which is a collaborative workshop focused on fostering innovation, integration, and growth in artificial intelligence, Bakshi confirmed that Shillong will host the prestigious Regional AI Impact Conference for the Northeastern and Eastern region.

The workshop brought together key officials, technology partners, and promising local startups from PRIME Meghalaya to explore AI-driven solutions for entrepreneurship, governance, and business transformation.

K L Nongbri, Joint Secretary, IT&C Department, emphasised the importance of connecting Meghalaya’s startups with AI specialists from MATH, highlighting the government’s vision for the state. The workshop featured multiple sessions on AI applications and integration, including an interactive presentation on the MATH Nuage Program by Rahul Paith, focusing on AI ecosystems, career pathways, and investor connect programs.

Local startups showcased their innovations, including Dr. Elvee Marbaniang, Founder, Runo Health Services Pvt. Ltd. (AI Human Hybrid Emergency Care); Rundolf Mawlieh, Director, and Ashish Saha, Co-Founder, Solipsis Design Pvt. Ltd. (Design and Product Prototype and
Avik Chakraborty, Founder & CEO, Pragna Intelligence (India’s Unified Compound Risk Intelligence Platform)

The event concluded with strategic one-on-one discussions between MATH officials, startup founders, and students, setting the foundation for long-term partnerships aimed at accelerating Meghalaya’s emergence as a regional technology and innovation hub.

Organised by the Information Technology & Communication Department (IT&C), Government of Meghalaya, in partnership with the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Technology Hub (MATH), the event underscores Meghalaya’s commitment to becoming the Digital Hub of North East India.
