HSPDP MLA expresses gratitude to CM for his induction in cabinet

Shillong, Sep 24: HSPDP legislator and newly inducted cabinet minister Methodius Dkhar has advocated for collaboration and cooperation among all stakeholders, including officers and employees of the departments under him to achieve success in their activities.

“I would definitely like to have a system which is inclusive, where I will have proper review meeting with the officers of the departments concerned,” the Minister in-charge of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs; Labour Employment & Skill; Registration & Stamps; and Cooperation departments told reporters here on Wednesday.

He said he would also have a review meeting with the stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in the system.

“I will see what is the best we can do as a department to serve the people as a whole,” he said.

Meanwhile, HSPDP legislator from Mawshynrut constituency expressed his gratitude to chief minister Conrad K Sangma for inducting him in the cabinet and assured that his priority would be to ensure these departments serve the people of Meghalaya effectively, particularly at the grassroots level.

“I express my gratefulness and gratitude to the chief minister for considering me to be in the cabinet and my party leaders and workers and people from my constituency,” he said.

Emphasising on an “inclusive system” in the Labour department, Dkhar underscored the need for a thorough review to strengthen the department’s ability to protect the interests of both labourers and employers.

His agenda for the department include assess current policies, identify areas for improvement, and consider new amendments.

Acknowledging the seriousness of the issue of illegal inter-state migrant workers, the minister said he would hold a review meeting with the department to understand the steps taken so far and determine the best course of action to protect the interests of Meghalaya’s people while ensuring that ongoing (construction) works are not disrupted.

Admitting that he has high expectations, Dkhar expressed his commitment to delivering his best with the collaboration and cooperation of stakeholders.

“I hope we will be able to meet all those expectations and I will try to deliver to the best of my capacity,” he said.
