Missing teenager found dead

Nongpoh, Dec 29: Body of a teenage boy, who had been missing over a week, was recovered from Umran river near Sohliya village in Ri-Bhoi district. A group of children, who went to swim in the river this morning, discovered the body floating in the water.

Police later identified the body as of 18-year-old Pynshailang Malieh from Nongjri village. He had been missing since December 21.

Sources said the teenager was mentally challenged and he was last seen at Nongkya.
The body was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post-mortem and investigation into the incident is under way.
