National Defence College delegation meets Assam Governor, discusses strategic cooperation

Guwahati, Feb 3: A 17-member delegation from the National Defence College (NDC), comprising senior officers from the Indian Armed Forces and representatives from Uzbekistan, Rwanda, Namibia, Malawi, and Israel, called on Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati on Monday.

The visit, part of the Understanding India Study Tour (UIST), aims to provide participants with insights into India’s national security, strategic affairs, and developmental initiatives across sectors like rural development, women’s empowerment, healthcare, education, energy, and law enforcement.

Welcoming the delegation, Governor Acharya emphasized India’s commitment to the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The world is one family) and its role as a leader in fostering global cooperation and peace. He lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their contributions beyond national security, including disaster relief, healthcare, education, and diplomacy.

“India’s growth is deeply rooted in its rich heritage, education, and civilizational values, which continue to guide its development under the transformative vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the Governor said.

The NDC delegation’s visit underscores India’s efforts in strengthening international strategic ties, enhancing regional security, and promoting cross-border cooperation through defence diplomacy and development partnerships.
