Shillong, Aug 23: Over 1000 delegates from across India and neighbouring countries such as Nepal and Bhutan will be taking part in the Meghalaya Model United Nations (Meghalaya MUN) which will begin from Friday.
The 5th International Conference at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong will be a 3-day event with the theme, “Sperare. Inspirare. Perspirare” – Dare to Dream, Achieve, and Sweat for Success, perfectly captures the spirit of this gathering, symbolising the resilience, ambition, and dedication required to turn dreams into reality.
The 5th International Conference promises to be an exceptional platform for youth diplomacy, with an extensive Executive Board comprising seasoned professionals with over 2500 MUN experiences collectively.
The Meghalaya Model United Nations has established itself as a premier platform for young leaders to engage in diplomacy and international relations.
Justice Hamarsan Singh Thangkhiew, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya will attend the event as the chief guest while Director General of Meghalaya Police, I. Nongrang will be the guest of honour. Other guests of honour include Patricia Mukhim, Padma Shri Awardee and Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla, Vice-Chancellor of NEHU.
The event is being held in collaboration with NEHU and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs. It is also supported by the state through the CM Special Grant, the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, and the Meghalaya Aids Control Society.
