NMC allots 50 MBBS seats to Shillong Medical College

Shillong, Sept 2: The wait is finally over for Meghalaya government as the National Medical Commission has approved allotment of 50 seats to Shillong Medical College for the 2025-26 academic year.

This development places Shillong Medical College among the 21 institutions across 13 states to receive medical seats from the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Confirming this on Wednesday, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said, “Shillong Medical College has been listed for allotment of 50 seats by the NMC.”

“Yes, it is indeed a big achievement for the state of Meghalaya,” she stated.
