No Govt interference in ED raids in Garo Hills: CM

Shillong, Dec 10: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has assured that there has been no interference from the state government during the recent raids conducted by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Garo Hills.

Replying to reporter’s query on Tuesday, he said, “There is nothing for the government to react to. It is an agency that does its job independently. It will be wrong for the government to react or interfere in any way.”

He also refused to give any further details of the ED raids, saying, “That is for the ED to find out, we are not investigating it. It would be wrong on my part to even interfere or to find out what’s happening. It is an independent agency and it will do its job.”
