Shillong, Apr 6: Various organisations of East Garo Hills district expressed their solidarity to the demand for setting up winter capital at Tura, during a public rally at Rongrenggre, Williamnagar on Sunday.
The rally organised by Nokma Association of East Garo Hills on Sunday was attended by representatives of several pressure groups of Garo Hills – A·chik State Peoples’ Front, Garoland State Movement Committee, Garo Students’ Union, Nokma Association, Mothers’ Union, All India Garo Union, A·chik Progressive Approach, and Garo Hills Enlightenment Society.

He said having a winter capital at Tura would help bring more development to the region.
The meeting was chaired by ASPF Eastern Zone adviser Ronald Bryan A Sangma. Mr. Birash Ch. Sangma, Chief Organizing Secretary of ASPF.
