Shillong, Nov 27: The NSS Unit of the ICFAI University Meghalaya, Shillong Campus, observed the National Constitution Day on Tuesday. The event began with the National Anthem, followed by the NSS Song performed by the ICFAI choir.
Bawan P Ryntathiang, the NSS Programme Coordinator, during her speech, emphasized the purpose and foundation of the Indian Constitution. She opened with a memorable quote by Dr B R Ambedkar, “The Constitution is not a mere lawyer’s document. It is a vehicle of life, and its spirit is always the spirit of the age.”
Concluding her speech, she quoted Dr. Ambedkar once more: “We are all equal in the eyes of the Constitution.” She urged everyone to strengthen our nation and honor the legacy of our Constitution, celebrating Samvidhan Divas with a commitment to constitutional values.
The programme concluded with all attendees—NSS Volunteers, Programme Officers and teachers—taking the Preamble pledge of the Indian Constitution.
