NTPC’s Bongaigaon plant awarded for healthcare promotion, environment protection

Guwahati, June 29: State-run power major NTPC Limited’s Bongaigaon unit’s contribution to healthcare promotion and environment protection have been awarded in different forums recently, a company statement said on Sunday.

It has been honoured with the 11th CSR India Award 2025 in the category of healthcare promotion, and the 24th Global Environment and Sustainability Award 2025 for outstanding achievements in environment protection by the Greentech Foundation.

The CSR award acknowledges the company’s contribution to strengthening healthcare systems in Nagaland’s Tuensang district, one of the most remote regions in the Northeast.

“Through its comprehensive healthcare project, NTPC Bongaigaon has supported the development of health infrastructure, supply of essential medical equipment, and outreach programmes to enhance access to primary and preventive healthcare for local communities,” the statement said.

The Environment and Sustainability Award recognises NTPC Bongaigaon’s consistent efforts towards sustainable operations and environmental protection, demonstrating best practices in ecological conservation and responsible resource management at the 750 MW power station, it added.

The awards were presented at two ceremonies in New Delhi earlier this month.(PTI)
