Shillong, Mar 28: The operation theatre (OT) and clinical laboratory-cum-blood transfusion facility at Khliehriat Civil Hospital in East Jaintia Hills district have remained non-functional, alleged the Jaintia National Council (JNC).
In a statement, JNC Khliehriat Circle on Friday underscored the need to make the facilities functional at the earliest.
“The current non-functional state of the OT has led to difficulties in providing timely surgical interventions, forcing patients to seek treatment in distant healthcare facilities,” JNC president Shanborlang Bamon said in the letter addressed to district medical and health officer (DMHO) Dr D Shylla
“Absence of such facilities often delays critical diagnostic services and blood transfusions,” he added.
