Pact signed to eradicate TB in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 7: Reinforcing their commitment to eradicating tuberculosis in Meghalaya, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was signed between Raj Bhavan and NEEPCO at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

Governor CH Vijayashankar, Major General RK Jha, AVSM (Retd.) Director (Personnel), NEEPCO, NEEPCO officials, and state health representatives were present at the event.

As part of its CSR initiative, NEEPCO will provide nutritional support to 250 TB patients through monthly food baskets containing cereals, millets, pulses, eggs, and milk.

During the programme, State TB Officer Dr M Syiemlieh highlighted that Meghalaya currently has 3,108 active TB patients and appealed for more Nikshay Mitras (donors) to join the fight.
