Shilong, Sept 19: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society has signed a pact with Jaceex Ventures LLP to facilitate overseas employment opportunities for the youth of Meghalaya in Japan under Jaceex’s flagship programme – Youth4Japan.
Under the agreement, Jaceex Ventures, an NSDC-empaneled sending organization, will identify, train, and place eligible candidates from Meghalaya in sectors such as elder care, agriculture, hospitality and food service, and driving.
Selected candidates will undergo comprehensive training, including Japanese language up to N4 level, cultural orientation, domain-specific skills, and pre-departure preparations.
Successful candidates will be offered employment contracts in Japan with a monthly salary ranging between ₹1.1 to ₹1.2 lakh, along with overtime, bonuses, and accommodation support.
The Government of Meghalaya, through MSSDS, will provide partial financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 per candidate to reduce training costs and ensure wider participation.
Speaking on the development, officials highlighted that the initiative will help address youth unemployment and underemployment in Meghalaya by equipping candidates with global skills and opportunities. The MoU also emphasizes transparent recruitment, welfare monitoring, and long-term career support for candidates placed overseas.
The collaboration is expected to create a sustainable pathway for young people in the state to access quality jobs abroad, while also strengthening Meghalaya’s vision of skill-driven growth under the Skills Meghalaya Programme.
