PM Kisan benefits deposited in farmers’ accounts

Shillong, Aug 3: A state level programme to join the nationwide virtual release of the 20th Instalment of PM Kisan Scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was held at the Integrated Agricultural Training Centre, Upper Shillong on Saturday.

The programme, organised by Directorate of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) East Khasi Hills and Meghalaya Agricultural Management and Extension Institute, was attended by farmers from various C&RD Blocks of East Khasi Hills district.

In her address, director of Agriculture B Mylliem Umlong encouraged the farmers to take the opportunity in availing the Central government’s PM Kisan Scheme.

The live streaming of the programme held at Vanarasi, Uttar Pradesh and attended by the Prime Minister was webcast to the attendees.

Through the nationwide launch programme, about 2.5 crore farmers participated in which the 20th Instalment of PM Kisan Scheme amounting to Rs 20,500 crores was released to the bank account of 9.7 crore farmers of the country.
