Protest threat over arrest delay in POCSO case

Tura, Aug 8:  Student and social groups in Garobadha town of West Garo Hills have given a week’s time to authorities to arrest absconding POCSO accused and registered a strong protest over the delay in action.

Organisations led by the GSU, FKJGP, AYWO, ADED, APA and AHAM petitioned the West Garo Hills SP complaining against the slow pace of investigation and arrest of the accused who had fled town.

The accused ran a shop and godown where he is alleged to have committed the crime on a minor school girl. He fled the shop after student volunteers raided it.
