Ri Bhoi headmen forum seeks meeting with chief minister

Shillong, Oct 6: A forum of headmen from 10 Ri Bhoi villages has requested an audience with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, seeking to discuss various issues affecting their respective communities.

The Synjuk Rangbah Shnong (SRS) Umrang Area general secretary, Bistocan Timung, on Monday submitted a letter seeking a formal meeting with the chief minister on October 15.

Timung said the forum seeks to discuss the urgent need for the construction of the school building of Umrang Nongbah Secondary School in the district among other things. They will also be submitting an application to the North Eastern Council for the construction of a new school building for which they seek the support of the chief minister.
