SDRF aids in relief distribution

Shillong, Oct 7: Besides carrying out search and rescue operations in the flood-affected Garo Hills, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has also continued its assistance to civil authorities in distribution of relief materials in the inaccessible affected areas.

In areas under Dalu C&RD Block, one of the worst-hit regions, SDRF personnel held the Block authorities in transportation and distribution of relief materials at several places such as South Kujikura, Rengrampara and Adanggri and the Block office.

At Barongpara, the SDRF team had to cross the river by a makeshift raft and ropes to deliver the materials to the flood-affected residents in the area.

The SDRF team has been stationed in Dalu area since Friday.
