Six accused in Rajabala attack remanded to police custody

Tura, Jan 19: A court in Tura has remanded to police custody all six arrested men involved in the attack and subsequent death of ACHIK organization member Dilseng Sangma at Goalgaon in Rajabala, according to the West Garo Hills SP.

In the last week, West Garo Hills District Police have managed to track down and arrest 8 (eight) perpetrators involved in the instant case from different parts of the state and Assam, said SP Abraham T Sangma.

The arrested men are Anarul Islam (30), Rafiqul Islam (47), Atowar Hussain (40), Ariful Islam (30), Ashadur Sk. (21), Mozidur Hussain (22), Mofidur Hussain (33) and Mozahidur Rahman (22) years.

“All the above arrested accused have been produced before the Hon’ble Court, and are presently in custody for further interrogation to track down other perpetrators involved in the incident, said the SP.

The district police chief also informed that in connection with the Goalgaon incident,  a Special Investigation Team (SIT) have been constituted, headed by R.A. Sangma, MPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Dadenggre. Anyone having information about the incident, suspects, or individual (s) involved in the incident have been asked to contact the said officer on his Mobile number at 7005680094.

The West Garo Hills District Police has given an assurance to the general public and all concerned that no stone would be left unturned to nab all the accused persons involved in the incident and bring them to justice as per the law of the land.

The District Police appeals to all concerned and to the general public to maintain peace and harmony in the district, and not to be misled by rumours or unverified content. All are requested to refrain from spreading or forwarding such messages, and to act responsibly on social media.
