Shillong, Sept 24: Meghalaya Speaker Thomas A Sangma and Deputy Speaker Timothy D. Shira attended the 10th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference held at Lok Sabha, New Delhi on Tuesday.

The conference focused on ‘The Role of Legislative Bodies in the Attainment of Sustainable and Inclusive Development.’

Sangma, who had previously attended the CPA Conference twice, said such conferences provide deep insights into legislative procedures which are sometimes overlooked or difficult to interpret.

He emphasised that the conference has greatly contributed to enhancing his understanding and experience, enabling him to be more effective in conducting and managing legislative affairs in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
