State achieves 82% of JJM target

Shillong, Mar 12: The state government has provided functional household tap connections (FHTCs) to 82% of the total target of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the state.

“Approximately 81.78 percent of the total target has been achieved,” PHE minister Marcuise N Marak said in reply to a question in the assembly on Wednesday.

Altogether 5,32,297 households in the state have been provided with FHTCs so far.

Meanwhile, in his reply to a question specific to Mawlai constituency, Marak informed that as many as 8 of total 10 JJM schemes have been completed in Mawlai.

The eight completed schemes include augmentation of Umsaw Mawtawar water supply scheme, augmentation of Mawkynroh Umshing WSS, retrofitting of Mawsiatkhnam village, augmentation of Mawsiatkhnam village WSS, Madan Mawkhar WSS, retrofitting of Umphrew WSS, Umrynjah WSS.

The two schemes in progress are augmentation of Mawtawar WSS and Umshillong Lummawnei, Umthlong, Mawiong and Block-13 WSS.
