State assembly condoles demise of Satya Pal Malik

Shillong, Aug 5: The Meghalaya state Assembly remembers former state governor Satya Pal Malik as a man of ‘remarkable strength of character and wisdom’.

Malik served as the Governor of Meghalaya from October 18, 2020 to  October 3, 2022.

“A humble, kind-hearted, and principled leader, Shri Malik will be remembered for his integrity, depth of knowledge, and courage to speak on matters of national importance. Despite his calm and composed demeanour, he possessed remarkable strength of character and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him,” said a condolence message issued by the Assembly.

Assembly Speaker Thomas A Sangma and the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretariat have also conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grants them strength and solace in this time of grief, said the message.
