State BJP extends Rikman Momin’s term as president

Shillong, Jan 20: The BJP has decided to offer yet another term to the incumbent state party president Rikman G Momin.

“The state unit of the BJP has unanimously decided to continue with the incumbent president’s guidance for yet another term,” said a statement issued by the BJP state unit.

Referring to the upcoming autonomous district council (ADC) elections in Khasi and Jaintia Hills, the BJP unit said, “This new term for the state BJP president comes with added challenges.”

It also lauded Momin for his role in restructuring the party in Meghalaya over the past one year.

“His inspirational model of leadership has attracted leaders and workers from other parties too and Meghalaya BJP has been swelling in numbers,” the party said.

“Meghalaya BJP, under the supervision of Rikman G Momin, stands poised to emerge as a potent political force in the state,” it added.
