Shillong, Apr 24: The state government has declared its full support to the Central government it its efforts to halt any resurgence of terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir, said tourism minister Paul Lyngdoh on Wednesday while strongly condemning the massive terror strike claiming 26 lives in the restive state.
“This was a drastically inhuman act… to target visitors who are contributing to the revenue of the state is beyond my ability to comprehend,” he told reporters.

“We stand together as a nation and as a state government we extend our full support to the union government in its attempt to thwart the upsurge of insurgency and terrorism in that particular area,” he said.
Asked, Lyngdoh said the government has upped the ante and is in constant touch with the BSF to enhance border security. He also shared that he had met the DG, BSF recently.
The minister also mentioned about the ongoing process of filling up of 3,000 vacancies in state police.
“Wherever there is a gap in ensuring safety of citizens, we coordinate with central forces and especially BSF which has a vast presence in Meghalaya,” he stated.
