Resubelpara, Sept 26: North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Saini has called for strengthening of healthcare services particularly for the female community by screening and treatment of women’s health issues.
Speaking as the chief guest during the on-going Swasth Nari Sashak Parivaar Abhiyan campaign, Saini said, “When a woman’s health is improved, it has a cascading effect on improving the overall health of the family and the society as a whole.”

The campaign was launched on September 17 and will conclude on October 2. Under the campaign, the office of DM&HO Resubelpara held a blood donation drive at Resubelpara CHC, North Garo Hills on Thursday.
This program under Swasth Nari Sashak Parivaar Abhiyan aims to promote women’s health and empowerment through various initiatives.
Saini also praised the CRPF volunteers from Mendipathar, members of the A•we Pedallers Resubelpara and the voluntary donors of the society for participating in the drive.

Pressing the medical team to expedite effort in setting up a blood bank in the district, the DC said that it was imperative for the CHC to have a blood storage facility, ensuring blood availability as and when needed.
This he apprised while informing the status of the Resubelpara Community Health Centre being slated for upgradation to a First Referral Unit (FRU).
Earlier Health officers of Resubelpara CHC clarified myths around blood donation and informed that donors who donate blood not only saves lives in emergencies and treatment but also improves the overall health of the blood donors.
