Two peddlers arrested in SWGH

Shillong, Dec 19: The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has apprehended two peddlers with suspected cannabis at South West Garo Hills on Friday.

Receiving information from the villagers of Jangari village under Kalaichar PP, the ANTF team conducted a search operation following which one Faruk Sheikh (48 years), resident of Nandirchar, Mahendraganj and one Md. Bolurudin Bepari (19 years), resident of Beparipara, Mahendraganj were arrested.

The team recovered suspected cannabis weighing over 1 kg from Sheikh’s possession.

The seized items were taken into custody and further investigation is being carried out to ascertain the source and network involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances.
