Two women gang-raped in Patna

Patna, Jun 20: Two women were allegedly gang-raped by unidentified persons in Patna’s Naubatpur locality, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday evening.

Speaking to reporters, Phulwari Sharif Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO-2) Deepak Kumar said, “Police received information that two women were allegedly gang-raped in Naubatpur area on Friday.”

“Local police officers immediately reached the spot and recorded the victims’ statements. Both women have been taken for medical examination,” he said.

Based on their statements, police registered a case and manhunt has been launched to nab the suspects.

“An SIT has been constituted to probe the case. Investigators are also taking the assistance of forensic experts. Police are probing the case from all angles,” the SDPO added. (PTI)
