Vikshit Bharat prog held at Nongpyndeng

Shillong, Mar 7: Various central government schemes, including Swachhata Hi Seva, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Mission Life, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam were emphasised upon during a Special Publicity Programme held under Viksit Bharat at Nongpyndeng in West Khasi Hills district.

Over 50 people took part in the programme designed to encourage community participation and inspire the younger generation to actively contribute to the nation’s growth.

Addressing the programme organised by Central Bureau of Communication Shillong, Josephas Thongni briefed the participants on the importance of “Viksit Bharat” initiative with special focus on the various central government schemes.

Another key session was presented by a respected community nurse, Shri Mangkara, who spoke on adolescent health.

In a quiz competition on health-related topics, Unita Rongrin, Manesh Mawblei, and Shimtihun Dkhar won the first, second and third prizes respectively.

Planting of fruit trees by village elders and youth leaders was also held on the occasion.
