VP plants sapling at Raj Bhavan

Shillong, Oct 18: Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, accompanied by his wife, Dr Sudesh Dhankhar each planted a sapling during a tree-planting ceremony initiated by Raj Bhavan, as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on Thursday morning.

The Vice-President also laid the foundation stone for several key facilities to be constructed within the premises of Raj Bhavan, including all Faith Prayer Hall for staff of Raj Bhavan; rainwater harvesting pond to help in sustainable management of water resources at Raj Bhavan; public reception park to accommodate visitors and provide a serene environment for public interactions; conference hall, public utility and a crèche which are all designed for hosting meetings and discussions, and dedicated space for public amenities and a crèche for the convenience of visitors and the staff.
