Wanted thief arrested

Shillong, Sept 27: A notorious thief wanted in connection with more then 4 cases was arrested by the police from the city, on Friday.

Shanbor Wahlang aka Moolchand, was apprehended by officers and personnel from Laitumkhrah police station, East Khasi Hills SP Sylvester Nongtnger said. Moolchand has been a prime suspect in a series of theft and burglary cases reported within Shillong since 2022 and is also wanted in connection with 4 separate cases registered at Sadar police station.

“Further investigations are underway to determine the full extent of his involvement in these cases and other related crimes,” Nongtnger said.

His criminal activities have been a significant concern for the community, and his arrest marks a crucial step towards resolving the ongoing theft and burglary cases in the area, said the SP.
