Shillong, Sep 16: A young woman and her two daughters, hailing from Assam, were found dead at a residential colony of a cement company at Thangskai village in East Jaintia Hills district on Monday.
The 24-year-old woman Rippa Das was found hanging while her daughters – Punchami (8 years) and Arpita (3 years) – were lying dead on the bed at Green Colony of Top Cement Limited.
The family hailed from Baratali, Kalain under Katigorah police station of Cachar district of Assam.
The deceased woman’s husband Apon Dad (35) reportedly came home for lunch and left at 2:00 pm.
On his return around 5:50 pm, he found the door locked from inside and along with neighbours he forcibly opened the door, only to witness the tragic deaths of his wife and minor daughters.
They immediately informed the plant’s security guards who in return informed the police.
The matter is under investigation.
