Shillong, Dec 20: The state government has announced a comprehensive reshuffle of senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and Meghalaya Police Service (MPS) officials, effective January 1, 2026.
In an official notification issued on Friday, Davis N Rangsa Marak, has been promoted and posted as Inspector General of Police (L&O), Shillong and Aditya Goenka, IPS (RR 2008) as Inspector General of Police, CID, Shillong.
Vivekanand Singh, has been promoted and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range), Shillong, replacing Davis N Rangsa Marak while Sylvester Nongtnger, as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security), Shillong.
Rituraj Ravi, has been promoted and transferred as Senior Superintendent of Police, TAP, Shillong, succeeding Sylvester Nongtnger.
Meanwhile, six officers were promoted to junior administration grade: Giri Prasad M – transferred as SP, Ri‑Bhoi; Nangkiew K Syiem – continues as SP (R/PR), Shillong; Maxwell B Syiem – continues as SP, AID, Shillong; Lakador Syiem – continues as Administrative Officer, Meghalaya Police Academy, Umran; Bobby S W Momin – continues as SP, SB‑I; and Goldenbert D Kharmawphlang – continues as SP, ATS, Shillong.
Four officers were promoted to senior time scale – Shivangi Goel, Saurav Kumar Saini, Lovish Garg, and Ashu Pant.
Several MPS officers were reassigned in the interest of public service: Bikram D Marak – transferred as AIGP(E), Shillong; Lethindra Sangma – moved to SP, AID, Tura; Rupam R Marak – posted as SP, Traffic, Tura; Herbert Pyniaid Kharkongor – transferred as SP, West Khasi Hills; Feroz Rehman – reassigned as SP, EOW, Shillong; Ialamlad Kharkongor – transferred as Deputy Commandant, 3rd MLP Bn, Sahbsein; Gilbert Armstrong Lyngdoh Marshillong – posted as ASP, West Khasi Hills; Basant Kumar Mishra – moved to DSP, CCW, CID, Shillong; and Santosh Kumar – transferred as DSP, CBPS, Eastern Range, Shillong.
