Teacher Connect prog seeks to bridge school-college gap

Shillong, March 13: Over 160 schoolteachers and college faculty took part in a two‑day Teacher Connect programme held at North‑Eastern Hill University.

In his address at the programme aiming to bridge classroom gaps under NEP‑2020, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui emphasized on the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the future of the state’s education system.

Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor Sumarbin Umdor chaired the session, stressing integration of technology across education levels.

At the valedictory, Director of School Education Banteilang Kharshandi highlighted state efforts to empower teachers and “bridge the gap between rural and urban educators.”

Dean CA Mawlong urged participants to return as “empowered mentors,” while MMTTC Director Quendarisa Kharbuli thanked NIEPA and UGC for backing the mission‑mode training.
